Lars, you got some ‘splainin’ to do! End of the Road #endoftheroad #8sunday #snippetsunday

Setup for this snippet: Cecilia has her laptop and pulls up photos of her rock star father with his arm draped around women that were not her mother.

(Cecilia’s POV.) (A few changes were made to fit the sentence limit.)

“Jesus,” he whistled low. “You were able to pull all those photos up with just typing in my name?”

Computers were a part of her life and access to the Internet was not a big deal to her, but it hadn’t been as accessible in 1994. It was the beginning of most people’s Internet journey and she had a hunch he didn’t have much access to it before he died. “I can pull up videos of your band too.”

“No kidding?” he voiced in awe.

She shook her head. The point of showing him the photos was to prove she knew he’d been a player. “You say you were faithful to Mom, but the photos and captions suggest otherwise.”

He glanced at her with an arched eyebrow and said, “Haven’t you heard of publicity shots?”

 Blurb:

Lars Gunner, the frontman for Silent Plaids, died 23 years ago and his death was ruled an unfortunate accident. Despite the fact he can’t recall what happened to him in his last moments of life, he is convinced he was murdered. He has been trapped in limbo until his daughter, Cecilia, unearths his journal and is able to see him. She seeks help from Kaleb, a psychic, but as they resurrect the past, the secrets and lies surrounding Lars’ rock and roll life just may be the death of them too.

  1. Hum… I wonder what kind of publicity he was going for. Or if they are really all publicity shots. I mean there are probably fan pics out there that aren’t always good for publicity.

  2. Another great snippet with the realisation far we’ve come in the last 20 years. Not sure about his reply re the photos. I wonder whether he’ll be able to convince his daughter.

  3. How fascinating it must be for him to see all the technology that’s come about since he died. The things you can find out on the internet! Good snippet.
