As they came to the end of the dirt road, a fence blocked their entrance to the water park. Of course, it wouldn’t stop anyone from jumping it if they had an inkling to do so. Luckily, they didn’t have to resort to calisthenics; Jared had the key and opened the lock.
“Make sure you wait for me at the concession stand up ahead. I don’t want anyone wandering off until I turn on the lights.”
Rowan fell back beside him now that Katie and Spike were practically glued to each other, his arm linked around her shoulders and hers around his waist. How they managed to stay upright and walk baffled him.
Once they neared the old concession stand, he spotted the lights, portable ones with QuadPower LED encased in frosted globes. They were strategically placed to illuminate the area while keeping the ambiance for the ghost tour shrouded in shadows. Jared must have been here earlier to set up things.
