(Drake’s POV) WIP
In the morning, he (Drake) headed downstairs, feeling refreshed and clearheaded. He had a goal now, but he had to be discreet. He couldn’t let his bandmates or his manager know where he was heading. Not yet.
He’d turned off his phone last night but when he turned it on this morning texts and missed calls from his manager and bandmates kept coming in as his cell played catchup. He finally texted Malcom and told him he was okay and to tell the others he’d call them in a few days. Out of all his bandmates, Malcom asked the least questions.
“Sure,” was texted back with a thumb’s up emoji. He was a man a few words.
He entered the coffeehouse. It appeared it wasn’t open for business yet, but Rowan and Maverick were at the bar eating breakfast and huddled over a clipboard.
Possible Blurb:
Eastyn has her soda shop to run and specialty ice creams to create. Only the place is falling apart, and she may have a haunted jukebox that chooses songs to communicate. If things couldn’t get any more complicated, Drake, her ex-fiancé, returns home after five years on the road with his rock band, Never Mind the Damage.
Eastyn vows not to fall for Drake’s charms again, but when you have a lifetime of memories with the man, the heart seems not to care about pledges. Her haunted jukebox believes choosing the right song to twirl and dip to is the answer to everything. However, Eastyn isn’t convinced. She wants to know if Drake is home for good, or will he break her heart all over again?

Two Worlds Collided is one of my favorite tales about time travel, romance, and second chances. You can revisit the story at Audible, or if you haven’t read it yet, experience the adventure for the first time as the narrator opens the door to a new world. That’s right. You heard it hear first. Two Worlds Collided is available in an audiobook format narrated by the talented Sharmila Devar.
Are you excited yet? Yes, you say. Me, too. ♥
Sometimes the Friend of Few Words is the best kind.
Bound and determined. His head set to what he needs to do but nervous someone may try talk him out of it.
OK, he has the groundwork laid so he can do what he needs to do now. 🙂 Getting good!
He’s going underground, eh? That’s an excellent story device.
So, he has the opportunity. I hope he takes advantage of it now. Great snippet!
“Sure” and no questions asked. A man of few words indeed 🙂
I’m glad he at least texted one person to update them. It’s kind of unfair how he left them, even with good reasons. And now, on to breakfast and new adventures LOL! Great snippet…
I wonder why he feels he can’t let his band or manager know where he is? Would they try to drag him back? Whatever the reason, it adds a nice layer of tension.
Love that he has to keep it secret. Great way to set up conflict.
a good sleep can do wonders, and I wonder about his plans. interesting snippet.
It’s good to have at least one friend that will answer like that.
Nice excerpt. I like that he didn’t leave the bandmates to worry about him.
