(Drake’s POV) WIP (Drake is speaking first)
“Hey, I’ll be out of your hair today, if that—”
Maverick held up his hand to stop him. “You’re welcome to stay as long as you need, but you mentioned last night you wanted to go home. Is that still true this morning?”
He nodded.
“We’ve been talking,” Maverick said as he glanced at Rowan at his side.
“Oh?” Drake countered with curiosity as he poured syrup over the pancakes.
“If you want to stay under the radar,” Rowan spoke now, “you won’t be able to use your credit cards.”
“It’s a sure way to trace you,” Maverick added, obviously speaking from experience. “And if you’ll let us help, we have a plan.”
Possible Blurb:
Eastyn has her soda shop to run and specialty ice creams to create. Only the place is falling apart, and she may have a haunted jukebox that chooses songs to communicate. If things couldn’t get any more complicated, Drake, her ex-fiancé, returns home after five years on the road with his rock band, Never Mind the Damage.
Eastyn vows not to fall for Drake’s charms again, but when you have a lifetime of memories with the man, the heart seems not to care about pledges. Her haunted jukebox believes choosing the right song to twirl and dip to is the answer to everything. However, Eastyn isn’t convinced. She wants to know if Drake is home for good, or will he break her heart all over again?

Latest Audiobook Release.
Holly Adams narrated Heart and Soul, the third story in the Rock and Roll romance series. Now available at Audible.
Two Worlds Collided is one of my favorite tales about time travel, romance, and second chances. You can revisit the story at Audible, or if you haven’t read it yet, experience the adventure for the first time as the narrator opens the door to a new world. That’s right. You heard it hear first. Two Worlds Collided is available in an audiobook format narrated by the talented Sharmila Devar.
Are you excited yet? Yes, you say. Me, too. ♥
It’s sweet that Maverick and Rowan are trying to help him.
It’s a good thing someone is doing the detailed thinking here since the hero is kind of a creature of impulse, or so it seems! Enjoyed the snippet. Will be interesting to see what their plan is!
OK, I didn’t see this line of thinking coming. Is he trying to stay hidden from law enforcement then? I didn’t realize that, I thought he was just taking time out from his band, but they would have no way to track his credit card usage.
Friends really help in this situation. I love the photo-how perfect for the snippet. Not just the pancake idea, but the slow slide of the syrup reminds of the slow slide of a romance.
Aaaaah! What a place for the snippet to end! But, cool! I like that they’re going t help him fly under the radar. 🙂
So he wants to stay hidden even if his bandmates freak out and report him missing? Makes me wonder what’s been going on in his life that he needs to run from.
Great that he has friends to help him. But my question is, who is tracking him that much? Hmmm.
And where, I might ask, did they come back this borderline illegal knowledge? 😉
I apologize for being so late commenting on your post. NaNoWriMo got in the way.
Hmm, what’s he hiding from?
