He pursed his lips and grabbed another tool. He would ring Sully tonight when he thought everything through. He needed a change is all. He just didn’t know exactly what that entailed. Other than he wanted Eastyn back in his life if she would have him. Lying in his bed last night, he contemplated not going back on the road. If he decided that, what would he do with his life? He couldn’t just hide out in his old room at his parents’ house. He needed a job, but his resume lacked in that department. There weren’t many callings for singer and guitar players in Hartsville, not if he wanted to support a family.
Possible Blurb:
Eastyn has her soda shop to run and specialty ice creams to create. Only the place is falling apart, and she may have a haunted jukebox that chooses songs to communicate. If things couldn’t get any more complicated, Drake, her ex-fiancé, returns home after five years on the road with his rock band, Never Mind the Damage.
Eastyn vows not to fall for Drake’s charms again, but when you have a lifetime of memories with the man, the heart seems not to care about pledges. Her haunted jukebox believes choosing the right song to twirl and dip to is the answer to everything. However, Eastyn isn’t convinced. She wants to know if Drake is home for good, or will he break her heart all over again?

Nice insight to his thoughts. He’s giving it a lot of thought and is not just rushing into things.
Iris,
He’s been thinking about it for a while.
That would be a tough spot to be in. He seems to have good handyman skills, though, and that can always come in–ahem–handy.
I’ll see myself out.
lol – you made me laugh.
He worked with his dad before he left town to be a rock star. 🙂
It sounds there’s no good alternative for him.
Ed,
No, there isn’t.
The world needs another adult son living at home . . . I should know. He’ll find a way if he’s ready to make the change.
Nancy,
I’m sure he will.
I know the feeling of having an adult son living at home. lol Daughter too.
A family? Wow, he’s thinking really far ahead. First, he has to get Eastyn back.
He’s known her since they were kids. He proposed to her before he left town to be a rock star. So he’s kind of rehashing everything in his mind.
Does he have to tour? Couldn’t he write and record and put out albums? Then he’d mostly be in one place–with Eastyn and a family.
He has to tour at least until the end of the year. His contract ends then, too. So he has a plan in the works for the future.
Wow–his thoughts are scurrying ahead of him. A family… Looks like he’s in it for keeps. 🙂 Good snippet!
Teresa,
He is if she will have him.
I like how he’s jumping ahead to supporting a family! slow down there, guy…but at least he’s trying to plan. Great snippet.
Veronica,
He is jumping ahead a bit. lol
He’s giving this a lot of thought. I wonder if he’ll consider what other singers have done to have a career and a family.
Diane,
I think he’ll figure it out eventually.
Maybe he can convince Eastyn to come with him? Best of both worlds!
