Quick update: Brynna and Travis lost their son due to a tragic accident. Instead of turning to each other they drifted apart. However, they own a Ghost Hunting business and they were scheduled for a night at the Queen Mary. This is the first time they have seen each other in months.

“Is it . . . too late for us, Travis?”
“I don’t want to believe it is, but . . .”
His hesitation put her on edge.
“Brynna, what I’m going to ask you will sound strange, so bear with me for a moment.”
“Okay,” she answered, slowly.
“Why do you think spirits linger?”

Oh, Karen! I can feel their heartbreak and hesitancy in every word. I’m adding this one to the TBR pile ASAP.
As for ghosts? Absolutely. I have to admit I crack up when I watch Ghosthunters on SyFy, though. I’ve had several encounters and one house we lived it was ghost central–literally. I swear the upstairs staircase landing was a “stop” on the paranormal train.
Thanks so much, Silver!
I’ve had my share of ghost encounters, too. 🙂 I love hearing about ghost stories from others.
The Queen Mary in Long Beach is a real place. Though I’ve never experienced a ghost encounter there, I do enjoy visiting the old ship!
Great snippet – I’m going to have to read the rest of that story.
Ghosts? Of course I believe – I’ve been able to see and communicate with them since I was a young child.
Hi Jacki,
You can communicate with ghosts. I’d love to know more.
Thanks so much for coming by. 🙂
I could feel the heartbreak too in each word. Sounds really good. Love the book cover.
Thanks so much, Sue for stopping by. Leanne Burroughs from Highland Press created the lovely cover. 🙂
Love the emotion in this six. Strong dialogue is important in a scene like this, and you nailed it! 🙂
Evelyn,
Thanks so much. 🙂
Great six and yes, I do.
Lisa,
Join the club of believers! lol
Nice six and ending question posed 🙂
Katie,
Thanks so much for coming by. I’m glad you were intrigued. 🙂
Not sure I believe, though I have a ghost (sort of) in Homecoming. But in this case, the ghost might linger to get them back together.
Sue,
The ghost may make a believer out of you yet. 🙂 Thanks for coming by.
Ohh,change of subject mid conversation. I can feel the tension between them. Excellent six.
Thanks Joanne.
I’m glad you enjoyed the snippet. 🙂
This snippet had depth.I want this couple to find their HEA!
I had two ghost encounters in college, actually think it was the same ghost. Brief visual of a man in dark fifties style overcoat and hat, might have been the land ladies husband. Scared me but looking back don’t think it meant harm. I think he was being fatherly.
Hi Melisse,
I’m glad you enjoyed the snippet. 🙂 HEA– They need to work on it. 🙂
Man in a dark suit– eerie. I believe most of spirits aren’t there to harm anyone, but they do give us a scare, don’t they?
Thanks for sharing. 🙂
I have got to read this book! I love the ones with deep emotion. It takes a great writer to bring that out.
And yes, I believe. I get occasional visits, but my husband is like a magnet for spirits. Has been since he was a baby.
Hi Sandra,
My husband and our friends like to take ghost tours. We need you and your husband to tag alone for real ghostly experience. 🙂 Thanks so much for coming by and your interest in The Spirit of Love.
This tugs at the heartstrings. I wonder if he’s thinking of his child? Sooo sad and beautiful. And I know I’m late, but I absolutely believe in ghosts. :c)
They are both thinking of the child they lost, and for the love they had for each other. They didn’t turn to each other when the tragedy struck, but now they may have a second chance. Thanks Sarah for coming by.:)
