Set up for the scene: Hyatt asks Michaela to join him for lunch. Hyatt’s speaking first.

“I know a place where ye’ll have a crackin’ fun time with Scottish home cooked meals and array of whiskey to take yer breath away”
“I don’t know about the whiskey, and I should probably—” Her stomach growled, drowning out her protest. Why not go with him. She was here to have fun, not spend time in her cottage. “I wouldn’t mind a warm cooked meal.”
“Splendid.”
“Hyatt, I would like a word with ye, please,” Alan interrupted with a stern frown.

Hmm… I wonder what Alan’s going to say to his brother? Truly the laddies have a good relationship, but Hyatt’s a bit of stinker. 🙂

Weekend Writing Warriors for Eight Sentence Sunday
I’ve always believe that whenever anyone offers to cook, it’s an opportunity that needs to be taken advantage of. Great snippet, Karen!
Jess,
Isn’t that the truth. Hyatt’s way of cooking is to take Michaela to a bar and grill. lol
Oh oh, Hyatt…so much fun!
Millie,
Hyatt is all about having a good time. Alan is more the serious type and tends to stop Hyatt from having too much fun. lol
I love the interplay between the brothers. Neither one looks likely to give up his designs on Michaela anytime soon.
Carrie-Anne,
Just wait and see.
I’d take him up on the whiskey… 😀
Miss Buckley,
I’m sure he’d be glad to have you.
Well the snippet made me hungry LOL. I do enjoy this story – great excerpt.
Veronica,
lol– I thought I heard your stomach growling.
Am really enjoying the tension between Hyatt and his brother. Great use of the 8’s.
JA,
Thanks so much!
This is so hilarious! I love Alan’s reaction.
Linda,
Hyatt likes to get Alan’s attention. lol
Uh oh, I wonder what Alan’s got to say? Fun snippet!
Angela,
He has plenty to say, too. lol
I’m smiling because I feel like I know these characters now. they’re so entertaining. 🙂
S.J.,
So glad you like the laddies!
Alan is such a wet blanket! (Can Hyatt drown him, please? Just a little?)
PT,
You’ll grow to love Alan–really, you will. lol
It’s like Hyatt wants to have his nose punched . . . Or wants his brother to get off the stick. 😀
I love this story.
Sarah,
With Hyatt, it may be a little of both. lol
I think there’s a little jealousy going on here.
Hmmm…I wonder where this place with home-cooked meals might me…I might have an idea 😉
Oh oh, back off Hyatt there’s a meal in the offing!
