Set up: We’re skipping a few paragraphs. We find out Steven is from Arizona. Hyatt makes the comment they’re surrounded by Yanks, but offers Steven a place at the table, while giving a subtle warning to him about Kait’s flirtatious ways. Enjoy!

Hyatt snagged a chair from the table next to them before Steven could refuse. “Where are our manners? For sure he’ll be joinin’ us. See if George willnae give ye a bottle, hey?” He winked at Kait. “Seein’ how ye dated him, he might be more obliged to give in to ye.”
“That was a long time ago, Hyatt and doonae bring up ancient history,” she warned and whirled away, her blonde hair flying behind her.
After sweet talking George with just a few words to give her what she wanted, she leaned over the bar to give him a quick kiss on the cheek then headed back to the table with her prize of glasses and bottle to share.

Was Hyatt subtle or not?
