NOOK
Set up: The new arrival heads over to Alan, looking for a fight…
***Note: Snippet has been modified to fit the 8 sentence limit. Fancy punctuations to make this one work. lol

Strands of gray overtook the dark hair he must have once possessed as a young man and lines of age marked his weathered face. Within seconds, his determined strides led him to their table. His hands balled at his side as if he readied himself for a fight.
“Ethan, ye doonae want to make a scene,” Hyatt warned, materializing next to Alan, giving Michaela
the distinct feeling confrontations were a common occurrence with the MacLachlin brothers.
“My quarrel isnae wi’ ye Hyatt MacLachlin.” His brogue was thick and hard to understand, but the tone could not be mistaken as anything other than hostile.
“Still the same, I’ll be askin’ ye to back down,” Hyatt said, keeping his voice even, but his hands also curled into fists.
Alan placed a restraining hand on Hyatt’s arm, but spoke to Ethan, “We can speak later, ye ken?”
****************************************************************************************
Do you think Ethan will just waltz back out of the pub? Methinks, he may put up a fight unless Alan can smooth things over.

This promise to be interesting. I wonder if Ethan is going to back down so easily. But he has two adversary for the price of one and I can see Michaela break a bottle on his head.
I think not. There’s going to be a scuffle, or more like a rumble! Wonderful details, Karen!:-)
I love the description in this bit, and the way the dialogue flows. There’s a lot of tension, too—and Hyatt being wonderful!

Hyatt may like to take swing, but Alan… he likes to talk his way out of things. lol
