Welcome to Snippet Sunday! This is a snippet from Two Worlds Collided. Only 99¢ for a short time. I really loved Evie and Bellamy’s story. I hope you will too.
LOOKING FOR last week’s SNIPPET from Chapter Two: Snippet #7
Now for Chapter Two – Body Language Snippet #8
About this snippet: We’re skipping ahead a few paragraphs.
Set up for this snippet: Last week Evie tackled Bellamy to the ground in an attempt to save from jumping from the rooftop of the hotel–or so she believed.
This week: Bellamy scrambles to his feet and Leon informs him that Evie is going to be his assistant. It takes Bellamy a moment to realize what Leon means and of course he tells him, “No. Absolutely, no.” Evie stands too and decides to introduce herself properly.
Now for the snippet. There are some tweaks in punctuation. Evie is speaking first.

“I’m Evie Reid,” she told him and extended her hand.
He stared at her outstretched palm for a second then leveled his gaze on Leon. “I don’t need a personal assistant, and especially one who thinks attacking a person is a great tactic to get to know each other.” He turned on his heels, and murmured something in Romanian, which she knew he spoke since his parents were both from there. She loosely translated it as Crazy chicks are not my thing.
“Well yeah,” she shouted back and then decided to play his game and spoke in Romanian too, “Good thing I’m not crazy then.” Loosely translated of course, but that seemed to catch his attention for about a second. He turned around and met her gaze in what she believed was supposed to intimidate her, but she refused to look away. “Giving me the evil eye doesn’t work,” she said and stared back; he dropped his gaze first.
He harrumphed and grumbled something that she was sure hadn’t been flattering, and continued on his way to the door that would lead him back inside the hotel.

I believe Bellamy has met his match. What do you think? Still, it won’t be easy for Evie to win him over after this introduction.
Blurb for Two Worlds Collided: (Time Travel, rating: 17+ years and older)
Evie Reid on a whim agrees to travel back in time to change bad boy Bellamy Lovel’s path of destruction. She’s smart with a college degree, but she is still fan-girl crazy for the rock band, Civilized Heathens. Evie knows despite all Bellamy’s smiles and enthusiasm on the stage, he’s destined to end it all on one lonely night in a hotel room unless she can change his path.
Bellamy isn’t keen on having Evie as his personal assistant, hired by his band mates to watch over him, and keep him on schedule. However, there is something about the woman that sparks his interest, despite his best to ignore her. When darkness threatens to consume him, he realizes she may be the only light that will chase the shadows away.

Oh, wow–the sparks are really flying between these two. Nice job!
Nancy,
Yes, they are. 🙂
She is definitely not intimidated by him, which is exactly what he needs. Great snippet! 🙂
Jessica,
He sure does. Glad you enjoyed the snippet.
Haha! I love that first meeting. Good for her! She’s feisty. I think she’s going to need it if she’s going to keep him alive. 🙂
Nice dynamics!! These two are going to be shooting sparks and hopefully not each other! Nice job, Karen.
Nancy,
Bellamy is going to push her buttons, but don’t worry, Evie can handle him. 🙂
Interesting and realistic interaction between the two!
Aurora,
I’m glad it rang true.
Fast and to the point. Just terrific, Karen. Double WOW!
Charmaine,
Thank you so much.
Great tension! Love the chemistry between them.
Angelica,
Thank you. So glad that you do.
Interesting confrontation. I love that she can speak Romanian, at least a bit. Enjoyed the excerpt!
Veronica,
I’m glad you like that. It’s not obvious why she can speak Romanian in this scene, but there is a reason other than her being a fan. 🙂
She really put him in his place, at least for the moment. Their strong wills are really well matched.
Carrie-Anne,
Bellamy isn’t going to give up easily. He doesn’t want an assistant especially since he knows his bandmates hired Evie to babysit him.
Love how she stands up to him! And I wonder why she can speak Romanian too?
Christina,
You do find out the reason she speaks Romanian and it’s not because she is a fan, though she is, it’s for a different reason.
Fire and gasoline. Great combo!
PT,
THANKS. 🙂
I’m sure he can usually get away with using Romanian so people don’t understand him. It’s perfect that this won’t work around her! He needs someone to call him on his BS, clearly.
Caitlin,
Yes, he does.
I think he’s met his match too. I like her.
Ooo I want to know more about their relationship!
He’s going to fight her every step, but I do believe she got him interested
Great dialogue. She’s going to give him a run for his money.
He’s feisty. lol
I love this girl already! I’m betting there’s going to be some interesting word wars and staring contests between these two. This should be fun.
