Welcome to Snippet Sunday! This is a snippet from Two Worlds Collided. Only 99¢ for a short time. I really loved Evie and Bellamy’s story. I hope you will too.
LOOKING FOR last week’s SNIPPET from Chapter Two: Snippet #9
Now for Chapter 3 – Building Bridges Snippet #1
About this snippet: We’re skipping ahead a few paragraphs.
Set up for this snippet: Bellamy shows up at Evie’s room and invites himself in. His impromptu arrival has her curious. He inspects her things–her open suitcase for starters– and adds his opinions along with some clipped random questions. She knows there is a point to this visit. She just has to keep her cool and figure it out.
Now for the snippet. There are some tweaks in punctuation.

Looking over her reading material was far worse than him fondling her undergarments and her face heated. He placed his sunglasses on the top of his head. “You have quite the selection here,” he said and turned to look at her and this time, his gaze had changed, not hostile, but curious. “You’re a Buddhist?” he asked and picked up the book, Yoga: Meditation for the Mind, Body, and Soul.
“No,” she said, “when I’m stressed, I like to meditate and some of the yoga poses help me to relax.”
“Hmm…maybe you are my type after all. I’d like to see you do some of those yoga poses…naked, preferably.” The lustful gleam in his eyes made her blush, but she refused to fall victim to this game he was obviously playing. Then she realized his motive; he was purposely trying to make her feel uncomfortable.
“It won’t work,” she said and he arched a brow at her.

Caught. Wonder what Bellamy will say next.
Blurb for Two Worlds Collided: (Time Travel, rating: 17+ years and older)
Evie Reid on a whim agrees to travel back in time to change bad boy Bellamy Lovel’s path of destruction. She’s smart with a college degree, but she is still fan-girl crazy for the rock band, Civilized Heathens. Evie knows despite all Bellamy’s smiles and enthusiasm on the stage, he’s destined to end it all on one lonely night in a hotel room unless she can change his path.
Bellamy isn’t keen on having Evie as his personal assistant, hired by his band mates to watch over him, and keep him on schedule. However, there is something about the woman that sparks his interest, despite his best to ignore her. When darkness threatens to consume him, he realizes she may be the only light that will chase the shadows away.

I’m enjoying their jousting!
So glad you are.
Hmm. Is it any advantage he knows that she knows what he’s up to? I suspect he is just going to try harder!
Or he might be impressed that she can see through his facade. 🙂
She’s wise to him! Great tease.
Glad you enjoyed the snippet.
What a rascal yet she’s a smart woman and is oh so cool. Terrific snippet.
Evie definitely has her hands full.
I’m glad she didn’t fall into his trap. Maybe he’ll realize she’s there to help after all.
Maybe… He might find out he actually likes her being there. lol
This snippet is the first I recall than shows her interacting personally with Bellamy — very enjoyable. His brazen comments fit well with his rock star persona.
Ed,
So glad you enjoyed the snippet. 🙂
I would have thwapped him with a book by now, but that’s probably not the way to go. Now that she realizes he’s trying to get her to quit, can she turn the tables on him?
She’s very perceptive. Good for her.
Elaine,
She is. She won’t let him get away with a lot. 🙂
Elaine,
She has to stay on her toes.
Love how she sees through him. Great snippet.
Diane,
She has an edge, knowing where his destiny falls. If she wants to change it, she had to keep her cool and understand where he’s coming from. Sometimes rudeness is a coverup for something else.
So glad she stood up to him. I get the impression he’s not used to that.
Elizabeth,
She’s good at calling him on things. 🙂
HAHAHA! Oh these two are really going to be a battle of minds and wit, I’m loving it. She can see right through him almost. I think his plan is to try to make her quit.
I love how he feels free to just snoop into her things. And the way she shoots him down. I think she might be a little more than he bargained for.
PT,
She’s a lot more than he bargained for. He’s used to getting his way.
I hope she can keep it together as well as she does in this scene. Really enjoyed the excerpt.
