Set up for the scene: Hyatt asks Michaela to join him for lunch, but Alan doesn’t seem pleased and asks to speak to Hyatt. Michaela waits at the end of the pier. Alone with her thoughts, she thinks about Alan’s attitude, but also about his ‘magic hands’.

Of the two brothers, Alan drew her attention, made her heart beat a little faster when his eyes fastened on her. Wouldn’t it figure she’d fall for the one with an attitude, but he did have a sensitive side to him. He came to her rescue when one of her headaches had begun to take hold.
Those hands had felt warm against her temples as if energy passed through his fingertips to penetrate her skin and alleviate the throbbing inside her head. Afterward, when their gazes met and held, she thought he would kiss her. He had leaned forward, but at the last moment he turned away. The funny thing was she wanted to feel his lips against hers. “What a crazy thought,” she murmured as her gaze landed on Alan arguing with his brother.

Hmm… I think the magic hands are winning out. Alan, you need to kiss the girl. lol

Thanks, J.A.
Totally agree with that, Alan listen to us, you need to kiss the girl. Even though I was almost sure that Michaela would start falling for Hyatt first, nice twist.
Linda,
Both brothers have qualities to admire. 🙂
I think she’s over thinking this! The heart wants what it wants and she wants him! Lovely snippet.
Gemma,
You might be right. lol
I trust Alan isn’t like my dysfunctional anti-kissing ex and does what he’s supposed to sooner rather than later!
You’ll like Alan soon enough. lol
I’m still rooting for Hyatt! LOL Great snippet, as always.
P.T,
lol– You can’t help but like Hyatt. 🙂
He should have kissed her!
Misa,
I agree!
Crazy, mayhap, but I think it’s an idea who’s time is nigh. Nice 8!
J. Rose,
So glad you enjoyed the snippet. 🙂
Yep, better kiss her quick.
Elaine,
I promise you he will. 🙂
Hyatt or Alan. Not a bad position to be in. Alan needs to get it together
Ohhh, I don’t know, not such a crazy thought in MY mind LOL. Another excellent excerpt from this terrific story!
Veronica,
Thanks so much! 🙂
He definitely should have kissed her. Ugh, men, lol 🙂
S.J.,
Yep, he should and he will…
Good choice (as if there was any doubt)! 😀
I still think Hyatt is yanking Alan’s chain.
Sarah,
Hyatt is so yanking Alan’s chain. lol
I think he’s pretty conflicted himself at this point.
Sue,
He is conflicted, but he’ll come around. 🙂
I like. Well written. Captivating. Great description of a headache.
Danielle,
So glad you enjoyed the snippet.
Your writing is so fluid, Karen. Why is a romance so much better when the gal falls for the bad guy? 🙂 Deep inside, I guess we just want to tame them, I mean to save them. 😉 Good 8!
Teresa,
Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed the snippet. 🙂
