“This is a great song,” she said and hummed a few bars then sang the chorus.
“Have you sung professionally before?”
She shook her head. “Just for fun.”
“Never?” He glanced at her and was genuinely surprised.
Her shoulders lifted in a shrug. “Church choir on occasion. When did you start singing?”
“When I was two, my mother told me but professionally right out of high school, though those gigs weren’t selling out the house.”
