Setup for this snippet: WIP from Heart and Soul. This is a snippet from my new ‘rock star romance’ that I’m working on. It’s in the very early stages.
Last week: Maverick is intrigued with his new manager.
This is Maverick’s POV.
***
He strode over to his desk that had papers strewn upon in it. He wanted to read Rowan’s resume again. He hadn’t meant to hire someone sight unseen but when he chatted with her over the phone, he liked the sound of her voiceβa bit airy, a tad raspy and just enough sass to make it all interesting.
“Shit, man, you sound like you’re writing a romance novel,” he grumbled under his breath. His Aunt Pam would be proud. The woman had twenty-five romance novels under her belt. He’d be the first to admit he’d read at least ten of them during his time on the road with the band. They weren’t half bad. Heck, he’d used a few moves the men in her book had used. He’d been young and hadn’t quite had the finesse to romance a woman back then but Aunt Pam had it right.

Love to hear your feed back. π
About Heart and Soul…
80s rock star, Haley Rose went missing without a trace on October 31 1988 and was eventually presumed dead. Three decades later, a thirty-year old woman, Rowan Beckett recalls things only Haley Rose would know and she can belt out songs in the same fashion as the missing 80s star. However, Rowan couldn’t be the missing rock star since the woman would now be in her fifties. Could Haley Rose have came back reincarnated as Rowan Beckett?

Aye, aye, aye! If only more men would read romance books, they could learn so much, to the benefit not only of their ‘significant others’ but themselves as well, after all, romance works both ways! Great snippet.
