Michaela Grant travels to Scotland for a holiday, knowing this vacation is her last. A medical condition threatens her life and any chance of a future—until she meets Alan MacLachlin, a man forced to exist between two worlds.
Alan is the legendary Loch Ness Monster. Once every fifty years he returns to human form in search of his soul mate, the one woman who can break his curse. He believes he has found forever with Michaela, but to claim it he must figure out how to save her life.
Michaela and Alan vow to take what time has to offer, but another threat looms. A sinister shape shifter with a vendetta against Alan is making Loch Ness his personal hunting ground. Now he’s threatening Michaela. Alan must discover who the shifter is and stop him before it’s too late.

****************************************************************************
Set up for the scene: Michaela agrees to let Alan and Hyatt give her a tour of the loch so she can search for the legendary Loch Ness Monster. As Hyatt and Michaela conversed, Alan realizes Michaela is not feeling well. He’s slows the boat to a stop, asking Hyatt to take over. Michaela has the starting of a migraine, and no medication will relieve the pain, but Alan claims he can help.
Now for the snippet: (Alan’s POV)
************************************************************************************************** He gently placed his fingertips on both sides of her head, massaging the temples in a circular motion with his thumbs as he chanted words, sending a vibration of warmth through his hands. Michaela leaned her head back as she absorbed the heat. The lines on her forehead smoothed away, leaving her brow relaxed and unmarred by pain. Her eyes snapped open in amazement, her gaze traveling over his face before locking onto his eyes.
She raised her hand to grip his forearm. “What did you do?” she asked, her eyes brimming with tears of gratitude.
“Do ye feel better then?”
“Your hands are like magic.”
************************************************************************************************
Magic hands? Wonder what else he can do with those hands? Lol
Find out next week with more of Alan’s POV.

Oh, drat! I wish I would have known about this event to add my Christmas book. Is it a yearly event? I’d love to join next time, if it’s possible. 🙂
And boy oh boy, hands that can cure a headache? I want this man!
Anastasia,
I’d love me some magic hands, too. 🙂 lol
He sounds fantastic! Great snippet.
Karen,
So glad you think so. 🙂
I’d love a pain relief treatment like that! It’s even better than my usual Naproxen pills.
Carrie-Ann,
Much better!
Where can I get me some of those magic hands???? 🙂
Lila,
Wouldn’t that be wonderful to have such hands? lol
Her reaction is so dear. Magic hands indeed. Lucky girl. 🙂
S.J.,
She doesn’t know it yet, but yep, she is really lucky, but then it goes both ways. Alan is lucky to have met her, too. 🙂
Another great snippet!
I’ve been loving these snippets every week. I don’t usually read spicy romance novels….but…..I couldn’t take it any more. And it does have a bit of a murder mystery tangled in there from the blurb at Wild Rose, so I got it. Next on my list to read.
History Sleuth’s Milk Carton Murders
Cindy,
I’m pretty tame when it comes to love making scenes. Sometimes less is more, if you know what I mean. 🙂 I hope you enjoy the story. 🙂
Wonderful soothing and healing hands. I thought I could feel them massaging my forehead to relieve the eye strain. I can imagine them doing other things…
Rayne,
He’ll get to that. lol
Oh yes, he has skillz LOL. Lovely excerpt, this is such a marvelous story!
Veronica,
Thank you so much. 🙂
Especially if she knows she’s near death.
Sue,
Absolutely, we need Alan’s healing touch!
Ooh, nice! Wish I had someone to do that for me when I have migraines!
RK,
Wouldn’t that be nice? lol
I really enjoyed this scene. I’ve had this kind of touch before… we call it “healing touch” – nothing like it – it’s the best!
Susan,
Yes, a healing touch is the best! 🙂
Funny, I was wondering the same thing: What else can he do with those magic hands? Great description!
Linda,
So much more, but that’s for later. lol
Now there’s a talent to look for in a man! 😀
If he can do this, maybe he can help cure her . . . ?
Sarah,
Wait and see… 🙂
His hands are “like” magic or are magic : ) Nice eight!
Millie,
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed the eight!
Where do I sign up for those magic hands?? I’ll take them!
Sharon,
I’ll make a list. lol
Just wait until he starts being nice to her more! LOL Great snippet, Karen. 🙂
Siobhan,
Thanks for stopping by. Yep, just wait! lol
Great snippet as always!
P.T.,
