He glanced out the window and couldn’t help but notice Rowan’s car wasn’t parked at the curb. “Did Rowan happen to stop in this morning before she left?” he asked as casually as he could, wondering if she’d told Katie where she was going.

“Great.” He hoped he sounded at least a little pleased his father would be visiting. He would have preferred to have the band here without his father trying to intimidate Rowan into giving them a spot.

“What’s his name?” his father asked.
