This week another snippet from my new release, RODEO BLUES!
If you’re interested in last week’s snippet of Rodeo Blues here you go: Chapter Three, Snippet Two
Snippet: Sam, the old man who greets those going into Big Bob’s Saloon, and Tye are catching up on what old friends have been up to. Tye finally asks about Jolie.
This is in Tye’s POV. Sam is speaking first.

“Jolie Lockhart, now she’s a girl a guy should hold onto,” he said and stared at Tye over the top of his black-rimmed glasses, dropping a hint that was anything but subtle.
Tye cleared his throat. “Sam, she isn’t … you know involved with anyone is she?” His cousin told him she wasn’t seeing anyone, but that had been a few months ago. Things could have changed since then.
“Didn’t no one tell you, boy? She’s married and has six kids.”
“What?” He swallowed back the panic. Had his cousin looked into the whereabouts of the wrong girl?

Do yo think Sam may be having a bit of fun with Tye?
Hope you enjoyed the snippet.

Eight Seconds to Lose the Girl…
One chance to win her back.
Tye Casper, a.k.a. the Ghost Rider and champion bull rider, should be the happiest cowboy alive, but when he left home ten years ago to make it big, he said goodbye to the only woman he has ever loved. He’s had his eight seconds of glory, but without Jolie Lockhart by his side, the wins mean nothing.
He’s been given an opportunity to return home to Skeeter Blue for one last rodeo. He believes fate has sent him there and he’ll have a second chance with Jolie, but nothing goes as planned. He soon realizes staying seated on a bull for eight seconds may prove much simpler than winning Jolie’s heart.

Obviously, Sam has an over-the-top sense of humor. Pregnant with her first child, maybe. Six kids, no.
I think I know who is lying to Tyr. LOL!! Great snippet. 🙂
Did he just get his legs pulled? love the reply.
I think Sam is pulling his leg, probably to get a reaction. Can’t wait to find out!
I have a feeling that ol’Sam is purposely planting a couple of barbs just to rub it in that Tye left. Great snippet.
hahaha that joke! I like how he panics though, so cute.
Married with six kids in a couple months – she works fast – lol – Tye’s in for a surprise when he figures it out.
I hope Sam doesn’t hurt something laughing in the next snippet! 😀
Tye has it bad, doesn’t he? And I’ll bet Jolie is going to give him an even worse time. 🙂
The old guy is just a’joshin’ Tye. What fun and what a change from the gryphon. I love your imagination.
Sam does like to tease and Tye perhaps deserves it. 🙂 Don’t worry, Sam won’t let him suffer long, and of course Tye will soon realize how ridiculous it is to think Jolie has six kids–though not impossible. He was gone 10 years. lol
Bwahahahaha! He got him good. 😀 Great snippet.
LOL! Sam’s a teaser, isn’t he? He’s uh, pulling his leg…:-D
Oh that kidder Sam! (Hopefully he’s kidding anyway.) Nice way to show us how very much the hero really does care about Jolie’s current state. Great snippet, made me chortle.
Oh he has to be bluffing about that and messing with him. The fact that he’s panicking and falling for it though tells me he’s wishing he had never let go of this girl. Good snippet!
That’s a pretty good question at the end there. Nice dialogue in this scene!
Uh oh!
Ha! Methinks that Sam is a bit of a prevaricator. lol Good snippet, Karen!
Very cute dialogue!
That’s certainly not an answer anyone wants or expects!
