It’s Six Sentence Sunday/Weekend Writing Warriors Eight and this is another snippet from Magic of the Loch. This is the legend and how it all began… Snippet #3 (Psst…I’ll let you in on a little secret… Magic of the Loch will be only 99 cents starting on Feb. 8th and ending on Feb. 22. This is $5 off the regular price.)
Blurb:
Michaela Grant travels to Scotland for a holiday, knowing this vacation is her last. A medical condition threatens her life and any chance of a future—until she meets Alan MacLachlin, a man forced to exist between two worlds.
Alan is the legendary Loch Ness Monster. Once every fifty years he returns to human form in search of his soul mate, the one woman who can break his curse. He believes he has found forever with Michaela, but to claim it he must figure out how to save her life.
Michaela and Alan vow to take what time has to offer, but another threat looms. A sinister shape shifter with a vendetta against Alan is making Loch Ness his personal hunting ground. Now he’s threatening Michaela. Alan must discover who the shifter is and stop him before it’s too late.
Update: This is a few paragraphs after last week. Dougal tried and failed to replace the lid and keep the water spirits contained in the well. The clan escapes the village with love ones and only a few belongings…
Now for the snippet:

Huddled together, they watched in horror as
water poured down the mountainside in an explosion
of raging waves like a greedy beast devouring
everything in its wake. The watery death showed no
mercy as it swept the dwellings, plants and trees
away. The valley flooded into a dark pool, whitecaps
glittering in the sun’s light.
“Why have the gods forsaken us?” one of the
women cried in a choked voice.
“It was Gordana’s doin’,” Ronson accused,
pointing his finger at her.
denial. Instead, tears spilled down her face and guilt
lit her eyes.

Someone has to pay for leaving the lid off the well. Looks like Alan’s sister is the guilty party. Find out next week how Alan deals with the news that his sister is to blame for their misfortune.
