It’s Six Sentence Sunday! This is the 4th tidbit from my WIP, Twilight’s Eternal Embrace. (vampire/historical/upper YA).
In this scene: Bram fears for Adryanna’s safety once he finds out his clan has been hiding their mistakes in the dungeon. The bloodlings that have died from blood loss, but have risen again are no longer human, but they are not entirely a vampire either. The blood lust rules their existence. Bram wants to scare Adryanna away from him and drags her down to the dungeon to see what her future will be if she stays with him. Death or Fiend…neither is promising.
Now the six:
“By all rights, you should leave this place and never return, but my sweet Adryanna, you prove not to be a coward. Do you not understand? I am not good for you,” he pleaded for her to open her eyes and witness the truth. “I will destroy you. I will destroy the tender compassion you hold in your heart, the light in your eyes will die, and all that makes me love you will cease to exist.”
“No, it will never happen.”

Awesome job! Very emotional! Well done!
Ceri,
Thanks so much. 🙂
The pattern of his dialogue gives your writing a strong Gothic feel. On a side note, I really like the word bloodling.
Jess,
Gothic is what I was aiming for. 🙂 Thanks.
He sounds scary but sexy at the same time…nice six!
Christine,
He is a vampire. I would be just a wee bit afraid. lol Thanks so much.
Ah, the conviction of the innocent AND the experienced. Good six, Karen. 🙂
Siobhan,
I love that you get it perfectly. 🙂 Thanks so much for coming by.
I hope she knows what she’s getting into! I love the conflicts Bram has between his love and darker side.
Carrie-Anne,
Bram struggles with his instincts and his heart when it comes to Adryanna. And she doesn’t make it easy. lol
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Stubborn heroine! She’ll have him pacing the floor at midnight if she keeps this up. 😉 And I agree with Jess. His “old-world” language and cadence really adds to the Gothic feel. Superb snippet this week, Karen!
Thanks so much, Silver. Adryanna is a stubborn gal, but Bram is worth it. 🙂
Sounds like she knows her mind. Great six, Karen!
Adyranna is a very determined young woman!
CAN he contorl himself?
Sue,
Sometimes it’s difficult, but Bram is in love with Adryanna and will do all he can to keep her safe.
Love the emotion. Great six!
Thanks so much, Sara. 🙂
Okay, Karen, you have to let me know when this one comes out. You made me cry. This is so…bittersweet. My heart is just crying for your hero. He just captured my heart. He’s saying all of that to save her life, and yet, by doing so, he’s proving why he’s a hero. Oh, that just makes me swoon. And I love that she says “no.” Because that tells me that he needs her, more than he realizes. Fantastic six, hon.
Joanne,
Thanks so much for the lovely compliment. I’m thrilled you enjoyed the six! Twilight’s Eternal Embrace will be available Oct. 1st! Thanks again. 🙂
Very emotional six, and I like that she’s made of sterner stuff than he thinks. 🙂
Donna,
I’m so glad you enjoyed the six! Yes, Adryanna is one strong woman. She’s perfect for Bram.
She is bound and determined to prove him wrong. Exciting! Hey, I would love to participate in both of those Halloween Blog Hops. What do I need to do, sweetie?!
She is determined. 🙂 Thanks for coming by. The Blog hops– I’ll email you the info. 🙂
What a great, passionate six!
Thank you, Sarah. I’m glad you enjoyed the six!
