It’s Snippet Sunday/Weekend Writing Warriors Eight and this is another snippet from Magic of the Loch. This is the legend and how it all began… Snippet #5
(Psst…I’ll let you in on a little secret… Magic of the Loch is only 99 cents (Feb. 8th and ending on Feb. 22). This is $5 off the regular price.
Blurb:
Michaela Grant travels to Scotland for a holiday, knowing this vacation is her last. A medical condition threatens her life and any chance of a future—until she meets Alan MacLachlin, a man forced to exist between two worlds.
Alan is the legendary Loch Ness Monster. Once every fifty years he returns to human form in search of his soul mate, the one woman who can break his curse. He believes he has found forever with Michaela, but to claim it he must figure out how to save her life.
Michaela and Alan vow to take what time has to offer, but another threat looms. A sinister shape shifter with a vendetta against Alan is making Loch Ness his personal hunting ground. Now he’s threatening Michaela. Alan must discover who the shifter is and stop him before it’s too late.
This takes place a few paragraphs from the last snippet. The Druid has arrived wanting to know who was responsible for releasing the water spirits.
Now for the snippet:
*******************************************************************************
(Alan’s POV) He wanted to reach for his sister, pull her into his embrace and tell
her everything would be all right, but he couldn’t. She had admitted her guilt by her own words, and he could not protect her from the gods’ judgment.
Hyatt stepped toward Gordana and her son, his intent obvious. Alan couldn’t let his brother make the mistake. His hand snaked out, clasping his brother’s arm in a firm hold.
“Unhand me, brother.” Hyatt’s body tensed, readying for a fight. “Let me hasten them away before Druid Daly exacts a punishment.”

Powerful! I have this one. I just need READING TIME!
I would love some reading time my self. lol I picked up a copy of Last Call. I had a chance to read a couple of chapters while I waited for my daughter to have her hair cut. 🙂 Here’s to hoping for more time.
I like how both brother’s handle the situation differently–one with care and the other impetuously. I wonder what Michaela has done and if Hyatt is going to get himself in trouble.
Clare,
The brothers will meet Michaela later in the story. This is the very beginning where the legend of the loch and the loch ness monster first began.
