Happy Sunday!
News of the week:
Magic of the Loch is on sale for only 99 cents at The Wild Rose Press and at Amazon! It’s a big savings from its usual ticket price of $5.99. So if you haven’t picked up a copy, here’s your chance to own it for less than a buck!
Mistletoe, Stakes and Yuletide Cheer hit the Kindle stands yesterday! “What’s a hunter to do when she’s fallen for the vampire she’s been sent to stake?”
What do you think of the cover?
How did you spend your weekend? I’m going over my final edits for Lost in the Mist of Time. I received my rights back to this time travel tale, and will release it again soon in both E-book and print formats. It’s been fun re-reading Aislinn and Dougray’s tale.
Now for Snippet Sunday. This is another snippet from Magic of the Loch. Today’s snippet is a couple of paragraphs later from last week. If you missed last weeks snippet, here’s the link: Chapter 2 #5 Alan’s POV.

Blurb:
Michaela Grant travels to Scotland for a holiday, knowing this vacation is her last. A medical condition threatens her life and any chance of a future—until she meets Alan MacLachlin, a man forced to exist between two worlds.
Alan is the legendary Loch Ness Monster. Once every fifty years he returns to human form in search of his soul mate, the one woman who can break his curse. He believes he has found forever with Michaela, but to claim it he must figure out how to save her life.
Michaela and Alan vow to take what time has to offer, but another threat looms. A sinister shape shifter with a vendetta against Alan is making Loch Ness his personal hunting ground. Now he’s threatening Michaela. Alan must discover who the shifter is and stop him before it’s too late.

Set up for the scene: Michaela agrees to let Alan and Hyatt give her a tour of the loch so she can search for the legendary Loch Ness Monster. As Hyatt and Michaela conversed, Alan realizes Michaela is not feeling well. He’s slows the boat to a stop, asking Hyatt to take over. He retrieves a water bottle from the cooler before sitting next to Michaela.
Now for the snippet: (Alan’s POV)
“I thought ye could use a drink. Bein’ out on the loch with the sun and wind, ye can become quite parched.” Her eyes narrowed with suspicion before turning her attention to read the label on the bottle. “It’s only water,” he assured her and waited for her to take the first swallow before he spoke again. “Now, close yer eyes, Michaela.”
“Excuse me?” she said, suspicion lacing her words.
He refused to give up, keeping his voice calm and smooth so not to frighten her. “I can help ye with the discomfort.”

What’s up with the water? Hmm?

I wonder if she will accept that, in her mind he might as well throw her overboard.
Alan says it’s just water or is it? lol
Only water? From where ? 😀
Hey, can his brother sense that she’s ill, or does Alan’s awareness mean they’re linked?
Alan is the only one who can sense she’s ill… as far as the reader know. 🙂
Wow! What an awesome concept. I’m hooked. Great 8!
Thanks so much, Maggie. And Magic of the Loch is on sale right now for only 99cents! 🙂
I’m wondering if the water is really some Magick potion that can help with healing her.
Carrie-Anne,

So Alan is the good old Loch Ness Monster. Pleased to make his acquaintance after all these years. I expect he’s up to something no-good, but we’ll see.
