WIP story
Snippet:
Eastyn MacKenzie stared at her sign above her soda shop and sighed as she noticed the neon sign flickered. Twirl and Dip looked like it said ‘wirl and ip’. So many things were falling apart she didn’t know how she was going to keep the business afloat and fix everything on top of it.
Her hand slipped into her sweater pocket and pulled out the card her father had given her. Tennyson – Jack of all Trades and the number printed in bold letters. She avoided calling Jack Tennyson because she’d dated his son and it hadn’t ended well. Her father said she needed to put it behind her and call Jack.
“He knows his son is flighty and the breakup wasn’t your fault,” her father told her. “Drake Tennyson went off to be a rock star. When is the last time you even heard from him?
She hated it when her father was right.
An intriguing look at this new story! Though I don’t think things are going to be easy for her in getting the place fixed up.
Jessica,
Thank you.
It might take some doing. π
Don’t we all π I like the start of the new story.
Iris,
I’m glad you do.
Interesting beginning. She has her hands full right from day one.
Charmaine,
That she does.
Very promising beginning and I’m already hooked! Loved the snippet…
Veronica,
I’m so glad you’re hooked!
Conflict right off the bat. Well done!
Dixie,
Thank you. π
And so begins another great story involving a rock-and-roller!
Ed,
Since I can’t go to concerts, I might as well write about rock stars. lol
I’m disappointed to see a new story and not the ghost one. This wip sounds very interesting. Love the graphic,
Diane,
I’m sorry to disappoint you. Heart and Soul is being edited right now. It will be released on June 25!
I hope you’ll enjoy Twirl and Dip, too. π
I Like it! She needs to call Jack. II think there might be an old connection that’s aboout to be renewed. π
Great introduction to the characters and setting! Can’t wait to read more.
I loved this snippet! I can only imagine how the conversation will go when she calls him π
Keep smiling,
Yawatta
Sounds like a good advice but I suppose the son is going to be lurking in the corner.
Oh, I understand her perspective and his. Yikes. Can’t she call another handyman? lol Great stuff, Karen.
