Twirl and Dip (WIP) Drake’s POV
He laughed, too, as he scratched his head. “I guess, in a sense, I did.”
Maverick’s eyebrow quirked.
“If it’s a problem—”
“No problem, man,” Maverick said. “You can crash at my place any time.”
He let out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding. “You’re a life savior.”
“We’re heading out,” a short-haired brunette said to Maverick. A man stood beside her with bleached spiked hair.
(To finish the scene.)
“See you both tomorrow,” Maverick said. “Good night, Katie, Spike.”
The headed toward the back as they chatted on their way outside.
Then Rowan strode out of the kitchen and headed over to them with two cups. “I thought you both might want some coffee.”
Possible Blurb:
Eastyn has her soda shop to run and specialty ice creams to create. Only the place is falling apart, and she may have a haunted jukebox that chooses songs to communicate. If things couldn’t get any more complicated, Drake, her ex-fiancé, returns home after five years on the road with his rock band, Never Mind the Damage.
Eastyn vows not to fall for Drake’s charms again, but when you have a lifetime of memories with the man, the heart seems not to care about pledges. Her haunted jukebox believes choosing the right song to twirl and dip to is the answer to everything. However, Eastyn isn’t convinced. She wants to know if Drake is home for good, or will he break her heart all over again?
At least his friend is letting him crash there
Good he has somewhere to stay.
Now I want more coffee! You gotta love friends who never let you down.
Ok0ay, so now he’s back home. I’m sure it won’t be long until he sees Eastyn again.
The stage is set. Just waiting for the action to begin between Drake and Eastyn. Great snippet!
Nice that Maverick didn’t hesitate or grill him (although that might come later).
Now that we’re past the issue of whether he’s welcome and that he has a place to stay – both good things – can’t wait to see what happens next! Enjoyed the snippet…
Maverick and Rowan seem to know exactly the right things to say and do. He’s lucky to have their support.
And we’re ready for the scene when they meeet again! Looking forward to that!
I enjoyed the relaxed feel of this scene. Very nice!
Thank you all for stopping by!
Pressure is off. Great snippet.
