Twirl and Dip (WIP) Drake’s POV (Drake is speaking first.)
“Your manager won’t be pleased, I’m assuming.”
“Not especially since he wanted me and the band huddling together to write our next album. We haven’t even finished our tour for this one.”
Maverick nodded with understanding. He’d been there. “So what’s the plan besides staying here for the night?”
He ran a hand through his hair. “I’m going home.”
“Home?” Maverick asked in surprise. “Home as in Hartsville?”

Eastyn has her soda shop to run and specialty ice creams to create. Only the place is falling apart, and she may have a haunted jukebox that chooses songs to communicate. If things couldn’t get any more complicated, Drake, her ex-fiancé, returns home after five years on the road with his rock band, Never Mind the Damage.
Eastyn vows not to fall for Drake’s charms again, but when you have a lifetime of memories with the man, the heart seems not to care about pledges. Home as in Hartsville? Feels like a more pressing question is “Home as in leaving the band?”
Going home will no doubt not turn out the way he’s expecting or hoping. It does seem as if he’s just running away from all the expectations (but also doesn’t his band need him???). Hmmm. I’m intrigued – enjoyed the snippet!
I’m with Eastyn–is he home for good, or just taking a break? Maybe even he doesn’t know yet?
Is he going home with his tail between his legs? Or is he going home so other reason?

Wondering what his band is feeling about this sudden departure. I am remembering that he just vansihed after thier last gig, right?
I think he should tell his manager that like a wise man once said, you can’t always get what you want.
