This is a WIP.
“That’s right.” His father met his gaze.
He wanted to see Eastyn. It was the reason he was here, but he wanted a plan their meeting in a neutral spot, not show up at her place as the handyman. It didn’t seem like the best way to see someone you left behind and hope to apologize and be forgiven.
He cleared his throat. “You don’t have something else I can work on?”
His father seemed to consider this for a moment.
“The project out at Mrs. Van Gleason’s involves tearing up the foundation. A pipe broke and needs replacing.”
(A little more to finish the scene.)
“Oh,” he said and couldn’t keep the deflated hope from escaping as well and revealing the project would be more than he could handle.
“If you don’t want to help out, you don’t have to, son,” his father gave him in out. “It’s just you offered,” he added with a shrug.
Possible Blurb:
Eastyn has her soda shop to run and specialty ice creams to create. Only the place is falling apart, and she may have a haunted jukebox that chooses songs to communicate. If things couldn’t get any more complicated, Drake, her ex-fiancé, returns home after five years on the road with his rock band, Never Mind the Damage.
Eastyn vows not to fall for Drake’s charms again, but when you have a lifetime of memories with the man, the heart seems not to care about pledges. Her haunted jukebox believes choosing the right song to twirl and dip to is the answer to everything. However, Eastyn isn’t convinced. She wants to know if Drake is home for good, or will he break her heart all over again?

Two Worlds Collided is one of my favorite tales about time travel, romance, and second chances. You can revisit the story at Audible, or if you haven’t read it yet, experience the adventure for the first time as the narrator opens the door to a new world. That’s right. You heard it hear first. Two Worlds Collided is available in an audiobook format narrated by the talented Sharmila Devar.

Are you excited yet? Yes, you say. Me, too. ♥

NEW AT AUDIBLE!
Mermaid Cove and Seaside Sundaes
Short story FROM THE WILD ROSE PRESS’ ONE SCOOP OR TWO SERIES!
One selfless act as a teen unfairly caused Sirena Seafair to forfeit her ability to shift into a mermaid.
Fifteen years later, her mundane life is about to change when Jack O’Casey arrives in the Irish town of Grimm Nitch and opens his restaurant, Mermaid Cove. The man is bound and determined to make Sirena his no matter what. But if by chance, Sirena can find a way to reclaim her life as a mermaid, will she leave Jack and her human life behind in exchange for a life beneath the sea? Or will surrendering her heart to love be the magic she’s been waiting for all along?

Well, showing up as her handyman means she’s less likely to say no to him. Nice snippet!
And Drake can’r back-pedal now. But I really understand what he’s thinking about a neutral spot. It sounds like he really does NOT want to mess up this attempt to make things right with Eastyn. Good snippet!
Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t … nice snippet. Look forward to reading what he’s going to do.
Showing up as a handyman might not create the impression he wants to give her, I suppose . . . whatever that impression is.
It’s not easy to step back into a heart that you’ve broken. He’d better be sure this time.
Oh well – he’ll have to be the handyman.
Making it hard on him. This shouldn’t be easy. Well done.
Interesting approach he’s taking. Hope it doesn’t backfire on him.
Well his Dad gave him an opportunity and an easy out…I have to agree the whole neutral ground idea was probably better on his part than just showing up as the handyman LOL but I’m sure this will lead to a lot of interesting complications. Great snippet!
He’s going to have to decide. How badly does he want to see her? Eating humble pie is never good.
This could go so many ways. I could see some sweet scenes where he tries to help out and bungles everything. Could be cute. Nice snippet.
I love the strong dad guilt here. I do that to my kid all the time too. “You don’t have to, it’s okay. It’s just that you promised and I thought I could rely on you, but no, really, it’s fine. I’ll just be over here breaking my back to put a roof over your head….”
This is bound to be an awkward meeting for them.
His dad’s “You don’t have to” sounds a lot like my mother’s “It doesn’t matter to me what you decide.” In both cases you know damned well that there’s a wrong choice. LOL
