“My dad said you needed a handyman.” He turned his hands palm up and shrugged. “I guess I’m your guy today.”
“You?” she asked incredulously. Had the earth stopped spinning? She understood Drake’s words but they didn’t make sense. Handyman? No. He was off with his band somewhere, preforming to thousands of fans, not standing in her kitchen offering to do manual labor.
“Yes, me,” Drake said, and she thought she heard a bit of annoyance in those words.
Possible Blurb:
Eastyn has her soda shop to run and specialty ice creams to create. Only the place is falling apart, and she may have a haunted jukebox that chooses songs to communicate. If things couldn’t get any more complicated, Drake, her ex-fiancé, returns home after five years on the road with his rock band, Never Mind the Damage.
Eastyn vows not to fall for Drake’s charms again, but when you have a lifetime of memories with the man, the heart seems not to care about pledges. Her haunted jukebox believes choosing the right song to twirl and dip to is the answer to everything. However, Eastyn isn’t convinced. She wants to know if Drake is home for good, or will he break her heart all over again?

Two Worlds Collided is one of my favorite tales about time travel, romance, and second chances. You can revisit the story at Audible, or if you haven’t read it yet, experience the adventure for the first time as the narrator opens the door to a new world. That’s right. You heard it hear first. Two Worlds Collided is available in an audiobook format narrated by the talented Sharmila Devar.
Are you excited yet? Yes, you say. Me, too. ♥

Mermaid Cove and Seaside Sundaes
Short story FROM THE WILD ROSE PRESS’ ONE SCOOP OR TWO SERIES!
One selfless act as a teen unfairly caused Sirena Seafair to forfeit her ability to shift into a mermaid.
Fifteen years later, her mundane life is about to change when Jack O’Casey arrives in the Irish town of Grimm Nitch and opens his restaurant, Mermaid Cove. The man is bound and determined to make Sirena his no matter what. But if by chance, Sirena can find a way to reclaim her life as a mermaid, will she leave Jack and her human life behind in exchange for a life beneath the sea? Or will surrendering her heart to love be the magic she’s been waiting for all along?
Interesting situation. I hope she let’s him explain.
It may take some time but they will get there.
She’ll listen to him, I think. But oh, she’ll be afraid to love him again. Unfortunately, I think she never stopped loving him, so the ball is in his court.
Gem,
If they get back together, it will take some time to trust again.
Love the fact that he is annoyed at her surprise that he is the handyman. Her surprise and his frustration suggest they still have a lot to learn about each other, even with a shared past. Great snippet.
Shari,
They’ve been a part for some time and things were never resolved so it will take some time to find their way back to each other.
Yup – he’s gonna push all her buttons and the fireworks will be spectacular.
Getting out the popcorn, gettin’ comfy on the couch and putting my feet up.
He will if he means to or not. lol
There is still so much tension between them. I wonder what it’s going to take to break that tension and for them to talk, or do something else about it.
Jessica,
They may dance around it for a bit.
How funny! She shouldn’t make it sound as if she doubts his skills as a handyman.
Aurora,
She is perturbed of course with his return. As much as she would like to think she has moved on from him, his presence has removed the illusion.
Oh no. Drake–back down on the annoyance! You want to win her trust, not her admonishment. Great snippet, Karen!
They’ll have to learn to talk to each other again. Neither were prepared to see each other again.
I can imagine she’s feeling slightly ‘out of body’ right now, having a rock star in her house to do a repair. Loved the snippet!
That she is. She didn’t think she’d ever see him again let alone have him show up at her shop as the handyman.
i wonder what he’s annoyed about? Her reaction to him or his to her?
I’m sure you’ll find out. 🙂
I’m not sure if he’s annoyed that she’s questioning him or annoyed at his father for sending him there or a little bit of both.
I’m sure you’ll find out. 🙂
You’ve posed a bit of a mystery for her to uncover. Cool.
Yeah, she is still trying to accept that this is reality and not some sort of dream.
It would seem that Drake has more than one talent. I’d not be quick to trust him either, though.
She underestimates him. I’d be annoyed, too. I hope they can clear the air soon. Well, not too soon. LOL
