WIP (Eastyn’s POV)
“No?” She raised her eyebrows in question. “Why else would a successful rock star come home to use those hands for fixin’ instead of strummin’ a guitar? Hmm?” she challenged.
He pursed his lips as if he didn’t seem to like she called him out on his bull crap.
“Okay, maybe I am hiding,” he finally admitted. “I needed something…different,” he settled on for lack of a better word she supposed. “I used to work with my dad. You remember that don’t you?”
Of course, she remembered him working with Jack, and she remembered a whole lot of things she wished her mind would stop recalling.
(A few more sentences to finish the scene.)
Like how those lips felt against hers and how his hands had caressed in ways that made her heart skip a beat. Something like it was doing now and he hadn’t laid a hand on her.
Possible Blurb:
Eastyn has her soda shop to run and specialty ice creams to create. Only the place is falling apart, and she may have a haunted jukebox that chooses songs to communicate. If things couldn’t get any more complicated, Drake, her ex-fiancé, returns home after five years on the road with his rock band, Never Mind the Damage.
Eastyn vows not to fall for Drake’s charms again, but when you have a lifetime of memories with the man, the heart seems not to care about pledges. Her haunted jukebox believes choosing the right song to twirl and dip to is the answer to everything. However, Eastyn isn’t convinced. She wants to know if Drake is home for good, or will he break her heart all over again?

Two Worlds Collided is one of my favorite tales about time travel, romance, and second chances. You can revisit the story at Audible, or if you haven’t read it yet, experience the adventure for the first time as the narrator opens the door to a new world. That’s right. You heard it hear first. Two Worlds Collided is available in an audiobook format narrated by the talented Sharmila Devar.
Are you excited yet? Yes, you say. Me, too. ♥
NEW AT AUDIBLE!
Mermaid Cove and Seaside Sundaes
Short story FROM THE WILD ROSE PRESS’ ONE SCOOP OR TWO SERIES!
One selfless act as a teen unfairly caused Sirena Seafair to forfeit her ability to shift into a mermaid.
Fifteen years later, her mundane life is about to change when Jack O’Casey arrives in the Irish town of Grimm Nitch and opens his restaurant, Mermaid Cove. The man is bound and determined to make Sirena his no matter what. But if by chance, Sirena can find a way to reclaim her life as a mermaid, will she leave Jack and her human life behind in exchange for a life beneath the sea? Or will surrendering her heart to love be the magic she’s been waiting for all along?
I wonder how she’d react if he did touch her at this point. Seems like she’s on the edge of wanting him, and wanting him gone.
Delicate balance. Tactile memories can evoke strong emotions, but when you’re not sure if they’re being returned (and the other person is the one who left you), you tend to overcompensate and pretend they have no power. *sigh* He should grab her and kiss her now.
Oh! -wait. That’s me projecting. As a reader, I want them to get to the good stuff now. 😉
Memories are flooding back. That is making her vulnerable to him. He shows of being vulnerable to her. Great set up.
Oh, treacherous memories. She better run away now or she’s a goner!
Oh – those runaway thoughts!
Does he feel the same?
This meeting gets more interesting by the snippet.
I’m curious about why he did come home. What is it that he’s hiding from/looking for?
Ah, those bittersweet memories! A very effective snippet…she has a lot to work through, it seems.
Oh, yes. She’s got it bad for him still, no matter how mad she thinks she is at him. Great snippet!
lol, I love Sue’s comment!
This is getting even better. Nice reunion scene! 🙂
I look forward to finding out what he’s hiding.
