“No?”
She slid from her seat. “No.”
He reached for her hand, but her twin eyes of fury made him let her go. “I’m sorry,” he apologized. “It would be nice to see old friends. It’s been so long.”
“In the media, it looked like friends always surrounded you,” she said as if the word friend proved vile. “New friends,” she added. “I thought you forgot all about us little folks back home.”
About the book:

However, there is something about the woman that sparks his interest, despite his best to ignore her. When darkness threatens to consume him, he realizes she may be the only light that will chase the shadows away.

He has been trapped in limbo until his daughter Cecilia unearths his journal and is able to see him. She seeks help from Kaleb, a psychic, but as they resurrect the past, the secrets and lies surrounding Lars’ rock-and-roll life just may be the death of them, too.

Oh, the bitterness is coming to the front. So hoping they both can get it sorted.
Oooooh! BURN! Jealousy, much? Nice BAM of emotion, Karen!
I believe she is correct. He must have forgotten his old friends in the excitement of playing with his band.
It’s time to make amends – if he can.
Uh oh, the truth is beginning to come out, at least as far as her feelings go. Enjoyed the snippet, enjoying the story…
Yes, this is definitely a situation he is going to have to deal with and acknowledge. I’m sure he hurt a lot of people, not just her, when he left without looking back. Great snippet!
Wonder what he’ll have to say to that? I’m thinking a simple apology isn’t going to do the trick.
Little friends back home…
That burn sizzles out loud. The punishment has begun! 🙂
Great snippet. Feels very real.
If she’s upset, that means he still has a chance, but she’s doing the right thing being honest and letting him know he can’t just pick up where they left off.
