Yo Ho Ho and Buttered Rum Sundae will be released sometime in the summer of 2022. This is the 2nd tale with Sirena a Jack from Mermaid Cove and Seaside Sundaes.
Last sentences of the previous snippet: (THIS IS IN JACK’S POV)
Sirena harrumphed. “You fancied it so much you didn’t stick around to use it. Have you been by to see your husband?”
This week’s SNIPPET:
The word husband sliced like a knife, but her mother seemed to take the jab as no more than an annoying bee sting to be swiped away.
“In due time,” Maori said with a shrug and tossed her long golden braid over her shoulder as if it were in her way. “I’d like to catch up with you first.” Her expression softened and appeared hopeful.
Despite her reasons for leaving Sirena, perhaps the woman did care for her daughter. Sirena believed the Merrows could not resist the call to the sea, and legends always held a bit of the truth, but Maori Seafair had returned. It had to be for a good reason.
“Mother,” Sirena broke the silence. “I believe—”
“I should go,” Jack said, interrupting Sirena’s next statement.
JUST A LITTLE MORE…
Mother and daughter needed to air things out, and it wasn’t his place to oversee it. He put the container of shortbread on the counter before turning and placing a kiss on Sirena’s cheek. “You should hear her out,” he said, lowering his voice for her ears only. “For your own peace of mind.”
She’d been clenching her teeth so tightly the side of her delicate jawline pulsed at the effort. Jack believed she might refuse to talk to her mother with such a stance, but finally, she gave a curt nod.
“I’ll ring you later,” Sirena told him, and her hand affectionately caressed his arm.

Yo Ho Ho and Buttered Rum Shortbread, a delectable summer short story, where the recipe for mayhem will stir up all kinds of trouble for Jack and Sirena in Grimm Nitch.
Sirena’s mother returns home after abandoning her family fifteen years prior, with a Merrow Prince, expecting Sirena to leave her home to live with him beneath the sea.
Meeting another Merrow is surreal but swimming away to live happily ever after in an ocean world is not as sweetly tempting as Sirena once dreamed. Where the mer-prince goes, Jack cannot follow. Giving up the life she has with Jack is like giving up sweets—forever.
At the Buccaneer Bash, the prince will reveal what he’s cooked up for Sirena, but he’s about to underestimate Jack’s skills, who has no trouble preparing a plan of his own.
Darrien Andros, a gryphon sworn to protect humans is cursed to live forever, safeguarding the items in the Museum of Cursed Antiquities. His mundane life between the world of the living and turning to stone as the sun rises is disrupted when a thief attempts to steal Hecate’s Stone. He cannot eliminate her for her thieving ways. Not when she resembles his dead wife.
Cali Angelis, a thief for hire, needs Hecate’s stone for her client. Only Darrien makes her question her client’s motives. She’d like to think Darrien delusional, but she’s seen the unbelievable.
Will they unravel the mysteries behind the stone before history repeats itself?
Mermaid Cove and Seaside Sundaes
Short story FROM THE WILD ROSE PRESS’ ONE SCOOP OR TWO SERIES!
One selfless act as a teen unfairly caused Sirena Seafair to forfeit her ability to shift into a mermaid.
Fifteen years later, her mundane life is about to change when Jack O’Casey arrives in the Irish town of Grimm Nitch and opens his restaurant, Mermaid Cove. The man is bound and determined to make Sirena his no matter what. But if by chance, Sirena can find a way to reclaim her life as a mermaid, will she leave Jack and her human life behind in exchange for a life beneath the sea? Or will surrendering her heart to love be the magic she’s been waiting for all along?
Definitely lots of tension in that place! I would want to leave, too. LOL But hopefully she can find some peace of mind.
Jack is probably correct. Though, it must be difficult to deal with a mother like her.
So many emotions to wrestle with. But Jack is probably right. For her own peace of mind…

Thanks for the heads-up about the linky list, Karen. Not sure why it closed early. I’ll have to be more attentive to it next Saturday evening–and catch it if it misbehaves. 🙂
I like him. He seems to be good for her.
